Single Song Co-Publishing Agreement
The Single Song Co-Publishing Agreement is used when a publishing company and a writer agree to have the publishing company exploit and administer the publishing to only one or a specific number of the writer's songs as opposed to an ongoing agreement for future songs. This can also be used by a publishing company that is affiliated with a record label. In this Agreement 50% of the copyright to the song or songs is transferred to the publisher with the publisher having 100% administration rights. The writer receives 100% of the writer’s share and 50% of the publisher share withe publisher receiving the remaining 50% of the publisher’s share which equates to the publishing company receiving 25% of the income and writer 75 % of the overall income.
