Single Song Collaboration Agreement
Single Song Collaboration Agreement
The Single Song Collaboration Contract is used when a two or more songwriters agree in advance to write together to co-write a song. The Agreement sets forth the rights each writer will have in the copyright to the song and the terms that will control how the song may be exploited. This Agreement can be changed to address more than one song. This is similar to a songwriter split sheet, except that this agreement is usually entered into before two writers begin collaborating on a song. This agreement also is more extensive in its terms addressing song administration. Whereas a songwriter or copyright split sheet is usually executed after a song was written and the parties only acknowledge that a song was written and what the percentages will be. This agreement provides one clause for each writer to administer their own song rights and also provides an alternative clause for only one of the writers to have sole administration rights.
