Producer of Tracks Agreement #4 with Artist (Royalty/No Song Rights))
This Producer Of Tracks Agreement (Royalty/No Song Rights) is a contract used by producers of music recordings in the hip-hop, rap and pop markets when contracting with an artist. The producer creates a recorded track of music for the singer/ rapper/ vocalist to sing or rap over. This contract is used if the producer did not contribute to the writing of the song in the event the artist (or other songwriter) wrote both the music and lyrics or if the producer is creating a musical track of a cover song. This agreement sets forth terms whereby the artist will own the recording as a work made-for-hire and the artist, and/or another songwriter, will own the rights to the song (lyrics and music). The producer will be paid a fee, a separate royalty from the sale of audio products or exploitations of the musical track but will not receive publishing royalties as the writer of the music.
