This Photographer Service Agreement is a contract used by an artist or record label when hiring a photographer to take photos of an artist that will be used on the packaging of an audio product or other promotional uses for the artist. This contract makes the person or company employing the graphic artist the owner of the photographs as a work made for hire. As a result, the employer can use the photos in any way they want including in merchandise or on the internet. However, note that a photographer does not always agree to sell the negatives as a work for hire provIding that the photos can be used in any way forever. Many times the photographer will continue to own the negatives and only grant the artist or label a limited use. In this case, the photographer's terms will need to be added to the contract.
